About the Doctor

A urologist’s focus, a physician’s patience.

Dr. Bedanta Pathak is a qualified urologist practising at Advanced Uro Care in Jorhat, Assam. After completing his MBBS and MS in General Surgery, he went on to earn the MCh in Urology — the dedicated super-speciality training in the diagnosis and surgical care of the urinary tract and the male reproductive system.

His practice covers the conditions urologists are most often consulted for: stones of the kidney and urinary tract, prostate enlargement and prostate health, urinary infections, problems with urinary control, and concerns of male reproductive health — alongside endoscopic and laparoscopic surgical care where it is indicated.

The intent at every visit is simple: understand the problem properly, explain what is happening in plain terms, and decide on the next step together.

Conditions & Care

What a urologist looks after.

A guide to the conditions seen most often at Advanced Uro Care, written to help you understand your concern before you visit. This is general information, not a diagnosis.

Kidney and Ureteric Stones
Stone Disease

Kidney & Ureteric Stones

Stones form when minerals in the urine crystallise. They can cause sharp loin or back pain, blood in the urine, or repeated infections. Evaluation and treatment options range from medical management to minimally invasive stone removal, chosen by stone size and position.

Enlarged Prostate (BPH)
Prostate

Enlarged Prostate (BPH)

A common, non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate in older men. It can cause a weak stream, frequent or night-time urination, or difficulty passing urine. Assessment guides whether lifestyle measures, medication or a procedure is appropriate.

Prostate Health and Screening
Prostate

Prostate Health & Screening

Prostate concerns are best understood through proper evaluation — history, examination and, where indicated, a PSA blood test. The aim is to explain what the findings mean and when further assessment is genuinely useful.

Urinary Tract Infections
Infection

Urinary Tract Infections

Burning, urgency or frequent urination often point to a urinary infection. Recurrent or complicated infections deserve a closer look at the underlying cause, particularly when stones, the prostate or the kidneys may be involved.

Urinary Incontinence
Continence

Urinary Incontinence

Loss of urinary control has several different causes, and the type matters. A careful evaluation distinguishes between them so that management — whether pelvic measures, medication or a procedure — is matched to the actual problem.

Male Reproductive Health
Men’s Health

Male Reproductive Health

Urology also covers male reproductive and sexual health concerns, including fertility evaluation. These are assessed confidentially and discussed without judgement, with investigation and supportive options explained clearly.

Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Care
Surgery

Endoscopic & Laparoscopic Care

Where surgery is indicated, many urological procedures can be carried out using endoscopic (through the natural passage) or laparoscopic (keyhole) techniques. The suitable approach is discussed in the context of your specific condition.

Blood in the Urine (Haematuria)
Symptom

Blood in the Urine (Haematuria)

Visible or microscopic blood in the urine should always be evaluated, even when painless. Investigation looks for the source — from infection or stones to the bladder, prostate or kidneys — so that the cause is identified and addressed.

The Approach

How care is offered here.

Understand first

Time taken to listen, examine and investigate properly before any treatment is suggested — so the diagnosis fits you, not a checklist.

Explain clearly

What the condition is, why it happens, and what the realistic options are — described in plain language, with your questions welcome.

Decide together

Medical, minimally invasive and surgical options are discussed openly. The choice is made with you, at a pace that suits you.
